The basic theme of the course corresponds to infra-structure and planning, considering the environmental, technical and socio-economic demands of Brazilian metropoles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The course is targeted to engineers, architects and other professionals in the fields of environmental and urban planning who have an interest in the analysis of the problems of large cities (environmental management, urban planning, residue management, analysis of the infra-structure life cycle, sustainable industrial development, transportation, logistics, energy, management, sociology, sanitation, natural resources in an urban environment), with special emphasis to the aspects of sustainability in our cities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The module \u201cSustainable Urban Planning\u201d is part of the International Master Program \u201cUrban and Environmental Engineering\u201d at the Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cat\u00f3lica do&nbsp;Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This module implies a workshop, several lectures and exercises.The topics of the lectures are:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">1. Climate and urban form<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">2. Urban activity<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">3.
